Viking Appliance Repair in Superior
Most of Superior went up in the 1990s, when Rock Creek Ranch and the subdivisions beside it turned a small town into a large one. The December 2021 fire took part of that stock, and what has replaced it is brand new. Two kinds of kitchen therefore share the same streets, thirty years apart.
Housing stock
Nineties subdivision kitchen
A kitchen from Superior's 1990s build-out: a closed plan, a standard appliance opening, a hood ducted by the shortest available route, and services sized for domestic equipment. Where one has been remodelled since, the equipment has usually changed and the services behind it have not.
A professional range in a domestic opening
Putting pro equipment into cabinetry built for a standard appliance is the common remodel here, and it works when three things are settled first: the opening measured where it is narrowest rather than at the front, the clearance to whatever stands beside it, and whether the run feeding it was ever sized for the new demand. The first two belong to the cabinetmaker, the third to a gas fitter or an electrician. All three are cheaper to answer on a drawing than after a delivery.
The rebuilt houses ask the opposite question
On the streets that have gone back up, nothing is worn and nothing is undersized. What gets called in instead is the handover: a setting never configured, a door reveal left as it came off the pallet, a filter still in its wrapper. Those are minutes of work, and they look alarming to somebody who has just moved in. Establish which of the two houses you have before assuming what the fault will turn out to be.
A new hood on an old hole
The item most often carried over from a nineties kitchen into its remodel is the ventilation route: new hood, same penetration. A duct that suited a domestic appliance is then asked to serve professional cooking, and the hood takes the blame for the run behind it. Before a replacement is chosen, have someone establish where that duct goes, what size it is and how many turns it makes on the way out.
Spec check
Confirm each of these before anything is cut, ordered or delivered.
- Whether the house dates from the 1990s build-out or the rebuild, because the likely answer differs
- The appliance opening measured at its narrowest point, and the clearance to whatever stands beside it
- Where the existing duct runs, what size it is, and how many turns it takes before it reaches outside air

The broil element arced, flashed, and left a scorch mark on the liner. Its terminal had burnt back inside the porcelain block. He renewed element and block together in one visit, then vacuumed up.
Bernadette F.Washington Park
Damp kept appearing under the toe kick of a two-year-old kitchen. Not the door seal — a split fitting where the fill hose meets the valve. Replaced, dried out, and no sign of it since.
Ignacio R.Highland
Beads of water kept forming along the center divider every time the evaporative cooler ran. The mullion heater had failed open. He tested it cold, fitted a new one, and the sweating stopped.

A question now is cheaper than a change order later
