Viking Appliance Repair in Louisville
The Marshall Fire began on 30 December 2021 and took houses in Louisville, in Superior and in unincorporated Boulder County. Streets here have gone back up since, and the kitchens in them are new in a way ordinary new kitchens are not: the appliances, the service runs and the finishes were all commissioned inside the same few weeks, by the same trades, to one programme.
Housing stock
Rebuilt-in-place house
A house raised on the footprint of one lost in the December 2021 fire, built under current code and completed in a single programme. Its services, joinery and appliances share one age and one set of installers, which is useful to know when something in it misbehaves.
One programme means one set of habits
Where an entire kitchen is commissioned in a week, whatever the installer did well is true of everything in the room, and so is whatever got rushed. That cuts both ways and it is worth using. If one appliance is showing an installation fault rather than a defect, the others were set by the same hands on the same day, and the cheapest moment to look at them is while a technician is already standing in the kitchen.
Two dates that are not the same
Equipment for a rebuild was often bought long before the house was ready for it, then stored and fitted much later, which leaves two dates on the record: when it was purchased and when it went in. They can be a year or more apart. Ask the builder for both, together with whoever registered the appliances, and keep them beside the model and serial numbers. Which date governs what is a question for the manufacturer and the paperwork, and nobody can answer it without the dates.
The paperwork that lived in the drawer
Records kept in a kitchen did not survive that night. Where an appliance was replaced through a claim, the only dependable account of what now stands in the room is the plate on the unit itself. Photographing it once — model, serial, and whatever date the label carries — closes the question for good, provided the images are kept somewhere that is not in the house. It takes a minute, and it is the difference between a part ordered from a number and a part ordered from a description.
Spec check
Confirm each of these before anything is cut, ordered or delivered.
- The purchase date and the installation date of each appliance, which on a rebuild are rarely the same day
- What the builder's warranty covers, who registered the equipment, and where that record is held now
- A photograph of every model and serial plate, stored somewhere other than the house
- Whether more than one appliance should be looked at while a technician is in the kitchen

Igniter clicked on long after the flame caught, which drove us mad. A cracked ceramic electrode shorting to the burner base. One part, twenty minutes, quiet again.

The custom panel made the door so heavy that it fell open on its own every time. A stretched spring on one side and a frayed lift cable on the other. Both renewed, tension balanced, and it stays where you leave it.

Upper oven ran hot and scorched anything on a middle rack, while the lower cavity behaved perfectly. A relay inside the control had welded shut. He proved it with a meter before quoting the part, then rechecked both ovens after.

Book a visit
A question now is cheaper than a change order later
$89 buys the visit and a complete diagnosis, and it comes straight off the bill once you approve a repair. Nothing gets ordered and nothing gets fitted until the number is in front of you.
