Viking Appliance Repair in Lakewood
Lakewood is the last of the flat city before the ground starts to climb, and it plans like a suburb rather than like the foothills behind it. Two kinds of kitchen turn up in roughly equal numbers: a single-storey house from the 1950s whose galley has been opened out at some point, and something built in the last decade with the equipment already in when the keys changed hands.
Housing stock
Tract ranch
A single-storey house built in volume through the 1950s and 1960s, long and shallow on its lot, with the kitchen against an interior wall in the middle of the plan. Making it bigger nearly always means borrowing from the dining room rather than adding on.
An opened-out galley on the services it started with
When one of these kitchens loses the wall between it and the dining room, the cooking wall generally stays put. The appliance moves a few feet at most, and the gas stub and the branch circuit stay where the trades left them when the house went up. Neither of them can announce that it is undersized, so before anything wider or dual fuel is ordered, two numbers are worth having: what the circuit behind the range is rated at, and what the gas run carries over the distance it actually travels. The electrician and the gas fitter own both answers.
The newer end of town measures differently
Around the redeveloped centre and along the arterials, the attached houses and flats were finished complete, and the opening a range or a refrigerator stands in was drawn around one model. Replacing it later is a dimensions exercise before it is a shopping one: the width at the back of the niche, the depth once a door is on, and the room a door needs to swing past whatever sits beside it. Take those from the installation instructions for the unit actually there.
Where Lakewood starts to climb
Most of the city is level ground with a driveway a vehicle can stand on, which is why the questions that dominate the rest of this sector rarely come up. The hillside addresses on the western edge are the exception: the drive has a grade, the parking is often above or below the door, and equipment travels further by hand than a plan suggests. Saying which side of the city an address sits on is enough for a visit to be planned properly.
Spec check
Confirm each of these before anything is cut, ordered or delivered.
- What the branch circuit behind the range is rated at, and whether it was altered when the kitchen was opened up
- The finished opening measured at the back as well as the front, before anything wider is ordered
- The model and serial from the appliance's own data plate, not from the paperwork
- On a hillside address, where a vehicle can stand and how far equipment has to be carried from it

Damp kept appearing under the toe kick of a two-year-old kitchen. Not the door seal — a split fitting where the fill hose meets the valve. Replaced, dried out, and no sign of it since.
Ignacio R.Highland
Ice production fell to nothing over two weeks. Denver water had scaled the fill tube solid and the inlet valve barely opened. Both replaced, line flushed.
Torben H.Cherry Creek
The broil element arced, flashed, and left a scorch mark on the liner. Its terminal had burnt back inside the porcelain block. He renewed element and block together in one visit, then vacuumed up.

Book a visit
A question now is cheaper than a change order later
$89 buys the visit and a complete diagnosis, and it comes straight off the bill once you approve a repair. Nothing gets ordered and nothing gets fitted until the number is in front of you.
