Viking Appliance Repair in Highlands Ranch
Highlands Ranch was built from a limited number of drawings, and the kitchens show it. Walk into enough of them and the same room keeps reappearing: an island across the middle, the cooking surface dropped into it, a tall run of ovens opposite. That repetition is a real advantage. A constraint that catches out one house is the same constraint next door, so it only has to be worked out once.
Housing stock
Production plan
A house built from one of a small set of drawings repeated across a community, so the kitchen, its island and the route to the front door recur at many addresses. What is learned solving one of them transfers almost directly to the next.
A rangetop in an island is a cabinet question
A cooking surface dropped into a counter is carried by the base cabinet beneath it, and whatever still fits inside that cabinet is whatever the unit leaves room for. Where a drawer under it will not close, or where the cabinet was never modified at all, the unit is sitting lower or further forward than the drawing intended. Both are put right at the joinery rather than at the appliance, and both deserve a look before a replacement of the same nominal width is ordered on the assumption that it will simply drop in.
Extraction over an island is the harder half
Nothing above an island collects cooking the way a wall hood does, because there are no walls alongside to help the air. A chimney hood hung from the ceiling works to the size and the mounting height its own instructions set out; a downdraft works against the rise of the heat it is trying to collect. Whichever is fitted, the duct behind it does most of the work, and the way that duct travels through a ceiling with rooms above it is usually what explains a hood that disappoints.
What one house teaches the next
Because the plans repeat, the answers repeat with them. The opening width, the circuit the ovens share, the point where the duct turns to reach the roof and the clear width of the stair or hall are identical at a great many addresses here. If a neighbour has already been through a kitchen replacement on the same plan, their drawings and their model numbers will save a survey. This is the one part of the metro where asking next door counts as serious research.
Spec check
Confirm each of these before anything is cut, ordered or delivered.
- Whether the base cabinet under the rangetop was modified for it, and what still has to fit inside
- The size and mounting height the island hood's own instructions call for
- Where the duct from the island runs once it enters the ceiling, and where it terminates outside
- Whether the same floor plan has been remodelled nearby, and whether those drawings survive

The grill burner lit at the front and died halfway back. Grease had baked into the burner tube over years of use. He cleared and replaced it. Good work; the part crawled in from out of state.

Glassware came out chalky white no matter what we tried. Scale off our hard water had coated the heater and half-blocked the lower arm. Both cleared. It took two visits to get there.
Dexter A.Cherry Creek
Ice production fell to nothing over two weeks. Denver water had scaled the fill tube solid and the inlet valve barely opened. Both replaced, line flushed.

Book a visit
A question now is cheaper than a change order later
$89 buys the visit and a complete diagnosis, and it comes straight off the bill once you approve a repair. Nothing gets ordered and nothing gets fitted until the number is in front of you.
