Viking Appliance Repair in Greenwood Village

Greenwood Village kitchens were largely built once, properly, and then left alone. The joinery still looks right, the stone still looks right, and the appliance nobody thinks about is the refrigeration standing behind the matching fronts. It has run without a pause since the house was finished, which is longer than anything else in that room has been asked to work, and it is usually the first thing here to need a conversation rather than a repair.

$89 on the visit, taken off an approved repair · out 8 am until 8 pm, weekends included

White undercounter refrigerator in white-oak cabinetry on tile, door open on bare shelf ladders, a grille across the top of the rear wall and a second grille in the kickplate below the door

Housing stock

Panelled built-in

A refrigerator or freezer set flush into the cabinetry and faced with doors made by the joiner who made the rest of the run, so the machine reads as furniture. Nothing behind those fronts can be reached until the fronts themselves come off.

Behind a cabinet front there is still a machine

Refrigeration faced in joinery disappears into a room by design, which is precisely why it gets forgotten. Its ventilation grille is not trim: it is the path air takes in and out of the unit, and anything stacked against it or built across it changes how hard that unit has to work for the rest of its life. Keeping the opening clear, and keeping what sits behind it reachable, is the cheapest single thing the owner of one of these kitchens can do.

The fronts come off before anything else happens

Serious work on integrated refrigeration begins by removing the panels and ends by returning them to the reveal they had. Custom fronts cut two decades ago by a joiner who has since closed the workshop cannot be replaced in an afternoon, so they are taken down slowly and every fixing is kept. Mention on the phone that the unit is panelled. It changes how long the appointment is booked for and what travels in the van.

Record the appliance before the room is a building site

When one of these kitchens is refreshed, the counters, the paint and the hardware change while the built-ins stay. That only works if the opening, the services and the clearances around the existing unit are written down first. Take the finished opening at the top and at the back, not only across the front; read the model and serial number off the data plate; find where the water line runs and where its shutoff is. Those three answers decide whether the appliance can stay, and every one of them is easier to get today than mid-demolition.

Spec check

Confirm each of these before anything is cut, ordered or delivered.

  1. The model and serial number of each built-in, read off the unit's own data plate
  2. The finished opening around every built-in, taken at the top and the back as well as the front
  3. Whether the ventilation grille is clear and nothing has been built across it
  4. Where the refrigeration water line runs, and where its shutoff valve sits

  • Two back burners had stopped sparking entirely. Not the module another company blamed — the harness plug behind the manifold had backed out and corroded. He reseated and sealed it, then tested every burner twice.

  • The undercounter unit in our pop-top island quit cooling weeks after the remodel finished. Drywall dust had packed the condenser and choked its fan. Cleaned out, fan freed, and it holds temperature now.

  • The oven took three attempts to catch and you could smell gas each time. A tired glow igniter drawing too little current to open the valve. Fixed properly. Scheduling took a week in our building.
